I have used Hunger on Trial: Irish Potato Famine as part of Agriculture Unit in Human Geography.  Students were able to use academic language to argue various perspectives to determine how human’s interaction with the Earth affects all people, the politics and economics around the global problem of hunger and to try to determine who was responsible for the Irish Potato Famine.  Students are able to see multiple perspectives and realize that ultimately we are all responsible for how agricultural practices, economics and politics affect all people and the Earth.
