We engaged with educators from around the country at the National Education Association Conference on Racial and Social Justice in Portland, Oregon on July 1.
For the third consecutive year, the Zinn Education Project had a table at the conference and our team members attended workshops on immigration, organizing, and attacks on educators for teaching truthfully.

In addition to the Zinn Education Project table (a project of Rethinking Schools and Teaching for Change), Rethinking Schools had a dedicated table and Rethinking Schools editors offered workshops on narrative power, teaching about Palestine, and school funding.

We introduced attendees to the Struggle for Black Education gallery walk. Maryland teacher Philimena Owona encouraged everyone walking by to leave a comment about one or more of the quotes. People shared ideas for how they will bring this activity back to their respective school districts.
