Being in New York City, Columbus’ name is everywhere. Over the holiday weekend, my students considered the Zinn Education Project materials they reviewed and paid attention to how their city and family observing the weekend. Once back in the classroom, we revisited the main ideas from your resources and heard a range of observations and ideas. The central theme of “rethinking” was alive and it thrives in our future lessons, where we question more of what previous students took for granted.
